Drag and Drop Sorting by track #

Postby OneTimeUser » 12 Jan 2015 04:09

I use VLC Player a lot. Mostly for MP3s. And at least 90% of the time I am dragging and dropping tracks into the playlist. When I do, the tracks lose their number in the display, and I have no idea what rules they use for default sorting. Seems very random. I can't understand why they don't land in the player displaying AND sorted by their track number. Can someone explain the reasoning of this? I know there is no fix for it. Some have made suggestions, and I know how to sort them manually, but I think this should be the default. Good program, but this is the single issue keeping me from donating to the developers.

Update:

I can't believe I'm trying this for the first time, but I tried opening the files right from VLC, and they landed in the application in the proper order. Excellent, but this is not how I want to use it. This tells me that this should be considered a bug, since it's basically doing the same thing, just using a different method.

Help please!
