Getting VLC Browser plugin for Windows to work

Postby swinster » 05 Dec 2014 18:15

Hi All,

System - Win 7 64 bit
VLC - 2.1.5
VLC browser Plugin - 2.1.3
Firefox version - 34.0
Chrome Version - 39.0.2171.71 m

I am attempting to view some WMV media files through the VLC browser plugin (both in Chrome and Firefox) and all I see is the VLC symbol. If I download the file I can play it through VLC, however, this is the same across multiple devices and we are trying to get the VLC plugin to play the media file directly. If we disable the plugin (certainly on Chrome) the Windows Media Plugin works without issue.

I have search the forum and the search terms are pretty broad and so far I haven't come across and answer. Is there anything I can do to setup the plugin in order to play these files?

Cheers

Chris
