VLC for WinRT won't install

It's listed as "VLC for Windows 8" in the Windows Store and when I tap install I get the error message:

"Purchase error

Sorry, this app can't be installed because your PC might not meet some of the requirements. Go to the app's description page to check for any requirements listed under Details."

I have a Surface RT.

Did you ever get a solution?
I am facing the same problem. Also using Windows RT on a Surface 2.
I swear I had it installed before but I had to restore the Surface and start from scratch.

I get the same error when I try to install. The strange thing is the description on the Windows Store says Supported processors: x86, x64 only.

Also when you try search for VLC it is nowhere to be found in the search results.

Do you have any update regarding WinRT availability?
Still only x86 and x64 are supported when trying to install on winrt tablets.
Please repush a build for ARM processors (WinRT).

I am also eagerly awaiting resolution on this. I just purchased a Surface 2 tablet with an ARM processor, and one of the only reason I purchased it was for the ability to use VLC.

Same problem here. I can't install VLC on my Surface 2.
Despite what I'm reading all over the internet, it seems like this new version of VLC has still compatibility issues with RT devices... The download doesn't even start.
Please somebody help!!

I'm having this problem, too. The VLC app in the Windows store appears to only support x86 and x64, not ARM.
