VLC 64bit gives error after closing it.

Postby TheKiller » 16 Sep 2014 00:46

A few days ago i installed Subtitle Edit and as it needed the 64bit version of VLC to play videos, i said i'd change VLC from 32bit to 64.

The program works as good as the 32 bit, but something weird is happening after i close VLC.
It pops up this box where it says VLC media player 2.15 has stopped working.

These are the problem details:

Code: Select all

Problem signature: Problem Event Name: APPCRASH Application Name: vlc.exe Application Version: 2.1.5.0 Application Timestamp: 00000000 Fault Module Name: ntdll.dll Fault Module Version: 6.1.7601.18247 Fault Module Timestamp: 521eaf24 Exception Code: c0000005 Exception Offset: 0000000000018e5d OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.1 Locale ID: 2057 Additional Information 1: 77f7 Additional Information 2: 77f7a6acff7c4ca13f1b107b07b843e5 Additional Information 3: 68fc Additional Information 4: 68fc3559f6c76fb704ba3c966d4fa3dd
Can this be fixed so it doesnt show that message? I think the 64bit isnt as updated as much as the 32bit.

I am getting letter for letter the same error, but I am also having problems where sometimes it just runs in memory(looking at the processes tab in the windows task manager), and when that happens if I double click to open a video, absolutely nothing happens. not even a flicker like it was trying to work. I have to manually end process to be able to open a video.

I also have the last issue you mentioned. Exactly the same. But that used to happen in the 32bit version also.
It happens rarely though...

I receive this same error each and every time VLC is closed.

System: Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit, i7 Intel 2670QM, 16gb DDR3 Ram, NVidia GeForce GTX 560m
