Window Sizing 2.1.5

First I have to vent. I just hate it that every time there is a new version of VLC, something else seems to 'break' like this. So I have the new update 2.1.5 and now the window sizing doesn't stay like it used to. I've checked the preferences and settings and they all look correct. They are all what they were for the previous settings, but the dang window won't stay. For example, I opened up VLC this afternoon and got a ridiculously wide and tall version. My video is playing. I resize the window, something I only occasionally had to do in the past. But anytime I click on the button to go to the next or previous video, the window reverts back to the monster. I even tried resizing, closing the app, and reopening thinking maybe it needed to set itself that way. I'm beyond frustrated. No matter what I've tried, the window will not retain its proper size. HELP!
