Full screen second monitor uses resolution first monitor

Postby noob99 » 16 Aug 2014 18:39

Since I cannot find a solution or someone with a simular problem via google, hoping someone knows what causes this problem.

Currently I am running VLC 2.1.5, but the problem came out nowhere in version 2.1.3, was running fine. I have a TV as secondary screen with a resolution of 1920x1080 and a monitor with resolution 1280x1024.

What I want is when I open a video is that VLC displays the video on the second monitor in full screen, while the video controle is in the main vlc frame on the first screen (the monitor).

I unchecked "Integrate video interface" at the interface tab. At the video tab I checked "Fullscreen" unchecked "Use hardware YUV->RGB conversions" and set output to "Direct X (DirectDraw) video output". And set the correct displaying device.

The problem: when I open a video the video is in full screen on the second screen (TV) but uses the resolution of the first monitor and does not fill up the complete screen, so it is not accually "full screen". When double clicking the video exits the full screen modus and when double clicking again the video now appear in full screen and using the resolution of the TV.

I find this very anoying. Does anyone knows what causes this problem? If you need more information, I am happily willing to provide you the addition information. :)

Video display solved I believe!!!!

To show on second monitor instantly in full screen correctly, set tools - preference's - all - video, tick full screen - scroll down to x and y co-ordinates. In my case I have a 1600 x900 resolution primary monitor, so I set x to 1670, and y to 300, and clicked save. Now all media I have tried so far on my 1200 x 760 resolution second screen is immediately played correctly in full screen mode.
