How to open each file in a new window?

Postby Knever » 13 Aug 2014 16:48

I apologize if there's a more correct phrase to use, but I'd like to be able to make it so that whenever I open a new media file, it will open in a new VLC instance, instead of stopping playback on the currently running VLC media and playing the new one. I know I can open VLC manually and have several instances available like this, but I'm sure there's also a way to do it with this simpler method.

Basically I want to open a file by double-clicking it, and then open another file by double-clicking it, and having both of those windows (and any subsequent files) running concurrently.

Any help on this matter is appreciated. Thank you in advance.

There is an option in the preferences to disable instance reuse.

Ah, what a simple solution. If I had done some proper digging, I likely would have found it myself! Thank you so much for your assistance, I really appreciate your help.
