PLEASE HELP! Streaming problems with capture card

Postby superboss » 12 Oct 2005 12:22

I recently purchased a Leadtek WinFast TV2000XP Expert. It works fine when using VLC locally to watch TV but when trying to stream through the network I get no sound, only video. I cannot select the capture card as audio device so I installed a soundblaster card and hooked it up to the capture card with the included passthrough cable. If I use VLC to play TV locally I get sound through the soundcard so that connection is working. I also tried streaming an exisiting AVI file just to make sure it wasn't a general problem and as I got sound when streaming the AVI, its not a general problem. I have tried all various setting to no luck.... anyone able to help at all??

Superboss
I only installed VideoLan yesterday and haven't got THAT far yet. I'm using a PCI Satellite TV card and will be trying to go WiFi LAN to another computer. Same deal??. If so, let me know all the settings you've used so far on each computer so's I can catch up and I'll see what I can find out. Got a bit of time on my hands at the moment.
Michael.

Hi superboss,

My wish is to stream DVB but firstly I'd like to view the flow using vlc.
I use a WinTv Nexus-s card, please can you explain me how to this?

Below you can view what are problems:

-From http://videolan.org/doc/streaming-howto/en/ch09.html
vlc -vvv --color --ttl 12 --ts-es-id-pid --programs=8508,8505 dvb --dvb-frequency=11739000 --dvb-srate=27500000 --dvb-voltage=13 --sout-standard-access=udp --sout-standard-mux=ts --sout
'#duplicate{dst=std{url=10.0.0.8},select="program=8508",dst=std{url=10.0.0.9},select="program=8505"}'

The output is

VLC media player 0.8.2 Janus
vlc: unknown option or missing mandatory argument `--dvb-frequency=11739000'
Try `vlc --help' for more information

-From http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/VideoLA'#dupl ... /x818.html
vlc --program 8211 dvb:12597000:0:3:27500000 --sout udp:192.168.0.12 --ttl 12

The output is

[00000244] main input error: no suitable access module for `dvb:12597000:0:3:27500000'
[00000237] main playlist: nothing to play
