VLSub add-on not showing up in earlier versions of VLC

Postby Radikinz » 10 Jul 2014 15:02

Hi

I am a huge fan of VLC. Especially when I can use the subtitle locator add-on. Unfortunately, the new laptop I have is windows 8 *sigh.

I downloaded the latest version of VLC 2.1.3 but when I click on View I see Subtitle 9.10 but nothing happens

I am trying to use VLSub 0.9.11 @ http://addons.videolan.org/content/show ... rumpage=27. They directed me to an earlier version of VLC (2.08) of which I downloaded and tried both win32 and win64 versions. It appears earlier versions do not come with an installer so perhaps I am installing it incorrectly but I can get the program to run but the subtitle finder is not there even tho I put it in the correct directory. To install the older versions, I unzipped into Program Files, Program Files x86, and My Documents. VLC runs but doesn't acknowledge VLSub 0.9.11.

Any help would be appreciated.

Happy Day! Solved the problem by finding the installer version of 2.0.8 on an old external HD.

Now VLSub works great :)

Not sure why it was the .zip version of 2.0.8 didn't work but the installer did. Guess I needed manual install directions to be included LOL.
