Playback problem

Postby Paul Stovall » 16 May 2014 00:43

Hi Folks,
I am having a problem. I now own a Toshiba L55 with Windows 8.1. My old system used Windows 7. I store my videos on a Toshiba external drive. I had no problem with playback on my VLC and 7 system but with Windows 8.1, I am. The video will start to play and then just drop off indicating errors in file reading. I can restart the movie again and run it right through the 'error' with no problem. And then it will randomly drop off again at another spot! Very frustrating. It's as if VLC simply gets tired and quits. Being basically computer illiterate, I have tried all setting changes I feel safe to monkey with and get no positive results. I am open to suggestion, please feel free to help the dummy if you can. Thx.

Paul
