I am using Window 7 with PowerPoint 2013. I have VLC set as my default player for all videos. I have created PowerPoint presentations which use the "hyperlink" function to link to and play videos. So when I click on the hyperlink, the video opens in VLC player in a separate window. When the video finishes, I close the window and the PowerPoint slideshow is still on the screen. At least, that's the way I want it to work. Here's the problem.
When using a laptop computer with a projector, the laptop screen shows the "instructor information" which includes notes, etc. The projector shows the slide show presentation from PowerPoint. The projector is connected through a VGA port. When I click on the hyperlink, the video opens in the laptop screen, but does not show up on the projector image.
Oddly, when I am working on my desktop computer, it seems to function the way I'd like it to. I have dual monitors on my computer. When I run the same PowerPoint file on my desktop, one screen shows the "instructor view" while the other shows the slide show. If I click on the hyperlink to play the video, VLC opens in the same window as the slide show, and plays the way I want it to play.
I've tried everything I can think of and have searched the forum without success. Do you know of any way I can get the laptop to display the VLC file in the projector view when running PowerPoint 2013?
Thanks.
