Smooth streaming example

Postby ricsip » 07 Mar 2014 18:05

Please anybody, give me a working example (with syntax) how Smooth streaming in VLC 2.1.x should work, to open a smooth streaming URL!
The VLC documentation lacks this feature completely.

For example what should I type into VLC URL bar to open the video at the bottom on this page?
--> http://www.iis.net/media/experiencesmoothstreaming

There must be somebody in the community who knows how VLC supports this, otherwise I am completely desperate...

Thank you very much, I remember trying that, but got crashes before. Now (maybe with the latest 2.1.3) it seems working!

There is improvement in the latest nightly build regarding handling of exotic smoooth streaming manifest files. Now it needs to improve on quality fixation, and everybody will be happy.
