How to change recording with 'REC' button output?

Postby hopelives » 08 Feb 2014 23:45

I really like this easy way of recording, for instance, live streams with VLC but how could I change the output format of the video? Is ther any possible way to change the .asf format to any other such as .mp4 or. avi? And also, when I record any stream as an .asf file, it seems the file is very big in size. Is there a way to limit the size?

You can't, the purpose of the record button is to record streams in their native formats.

But once it's done you can transcode the recordings to any other format you want.

Thanks a lot for your answer. And can I use VLC to convert the video?
