VLC 2.1.3 Multiple Displays

Postby m1975Michael » 10 Feb 2014 02:37

Hello,

I appears that the settings are not working correctly. I have a computer monitor and a Samsung TV. My computer monitor is display 1 and the TV is display 2. I have the Direct X display setting set to my display 1 but it always open on the TV. Does any one have any suggestions? Thank you for your assistance

Hello,

I have reset my preferences and it still does not default to my monitor. Any other suggestions?

Ha! I wish I had that problem! I have the opposite problem... VLC ALWAYS begins playback of EVERY video on my main display, then I have to use Windows hotkeys to move that window to my TV which is hooked up as an addition monitor. This is on a brand new installation of VLC on a fresh installation of Windows. No settings will fix the problem- I really wish I knew why. Others have had success with 2.1.3 but it still doesn't work for me.

That is just really strange though because mine defaults to the primary monitor & I can't change it... And apparently yours defaults to a secondary display and you can not change that either!

Have you tried the 64-bit version? I have absolutely no reason to believe it would make any difference, in fact, I have virtually every reason to believe it would NOT make any difference. But computers sometimes defy reason & logic and I've found that the 64-bit version of other software has resolved the strangest issues. I think it's worth trying...
