Removing narration project.

Postby Zachary1234 » 31 Jan 2014 02:51

I am trying to do some editing on a personal use dvd, which is no encrypted.
I have it either as an mpg or an mpg4 video file.

I want to edit the audio so that the speach, the narration, gets removed
but so that any background music or sound effects remain.

I am looking for a free option to achieve this.

I have tried using audacity, but find that I can't use it on a video
encoded file (not an audio file format).
I don't really have the option to remove the audio et al
and that add it back in again.

-I was wondering if there was a free plugin for VLC, my favourite
video viewer, which has better success than just turning down speech
to a mumble in the background.

-If not, could someone direct me to other software which
eliminates any perceivable speech out of the audio on a video file,
and not an audio file?
