Dual Monitor Aspect Ratio

Postby egoplant » 20 Jan 2014 01:03

I've been trying to get video playing stretched across both of my monitors, however the aspect ratio won't change from the default aspect ratio of the video when I enable image wall. I've tried applying the video wall filter with the aspect ratio, and I've tried setting the default aspect ratio in the video settings, but no matter what I do it just goes to the default aspect ratio of the video when I enable video wall.

I'm not sure what you mean. I just need to know how to change the aspect ratio for the image wall so it will stretch the video across two monitors (unless there is another way). I've tried changing the default aspect ratio of the image wall filter and nothing happened. I've tried changing the default aspect ratio in the general video settings, and although it changed for the normal video playing, as soon as I enabled the video wall it switches back to the default aspect ratio of the video, so again, not working. I don't know any other things to try, and after over an hour of googling, I came here to make a thread because I couldn't find an answer.

Hi!

I did not ask what you have tried, I did ask, how you have tried it.

Where you have, for example, set which filter?

In Preferences - Video - Filters - Video splitter module - Wall video filter?

Another question:

Why do you use the Wall video filter to a video on two monitors divide?

What operating system are you using?

What version of VLC are you using?

What are your settings for the screen resolution (coordinates of the primary and the secondary monitor)?

I have enabled both the video splitter module and the video filter module for "wall video filter" after changing the default aspect ratio to 32:9 in the video wall filter settings. My monitors are both 1920x1080, I'm using VLC 2.1.2 and Windows 7. The reason I'm trying to use it is because it's the only way as far as I know to stretch a video across two monitors.

Where is in the system settings the secondary monitor, left of the main monitor or right and how big is the video?

You do not need to quote my whole answer. Anyone can read about your response.

The second monitor is to the right, and the video size would be 1980x1080, but I'm not sure how that would be at all relevant.

Your video has a size of 1920x1080 and is to be shown with an aspect ratio of 32:9 on both monitors. Is that really so?

I want the video to stretch across two 1080p monitors.

It still does not work. It will stretch the aspect ratio to 32:9 in normal mode, but as soon as I switch to wall mode so I can maximize one window on either monitor, goes back to the default aspect ratio of the video.

Experiment ONLY in Advanced Preferences - Video with
Monitor pixel aspect ratio (1:2),
Zoom Video,
Video-X-coordinates and
Video-Y-coordinates,
NO WITH WALL MODE!
