VLC 0.8.2 wont play x264 files

when i try playing a x264 (.mkv) file in VLC it just gives me gray output
when i play it with WMP10 (using nero's avc decoder) and mplayer it OK :shock:

now it wont even give me sound
and it do not accsept the mkv file :/
