VLC and OS audio via USB device!

Hi,

why if I open this url with vlc
rtsptext
rtsp://212.77.7.148:80/h264lan.sdp
(or a file mp3)
with USB headphones connected,

the OS audio (windows mail, browser, flash...) doesnt work, but if I press Stop in VLC (without closing it), the OS audio is working again?? its normal behaviour? I did not notice it before...

now VLC simply is nOT working with the usb headphone, no playback! ok if I remove the usb headphones.
for 5 years until today I had no problems...
