How to specify the Channel for DVB-T

Postby Hannibalstgt » 07 Jan 2014 12:36

With Ctl-C you can open a Recording Device.
Offered are DirectShow, DVB-T and Desktop.

When I select DVB-T I can select under Options
a Transponder/Multiplex-Frequency

In our area (Stuttgart Germany) there is for instance the Frequency 514000 KHz.

In this Frequency BLock there are located the following channels:

Das Erste (SWR)
Arte,
Phoenix,
and
Eins Plus,

When I enter 514000 I always get Arte.
How can I select the others chanels offered via this Frequency Band.

Many thanks in advance,
Wolfgang

[Solved] Re: How to specify the Channel for DVB-T

Hello,

I have found out how to do it.
Pretty tricky and pretty hidden - and not referenced in any help documentation.

Select in the menu-bar under "Media" -> "Open Cature Device..." ( Aufnahmegeräte öffnen).

in the Open Media Dialog: select label "Capture Device" and set capture mode to "TV-Digital".
Set "Transponder/multiplex frequency" to the desired value ( in my case 514000 kHz).
Press "Play" button. The main channel of the transponder opens.

Click into the image with the right mouse button. A hover menu appears.
Select "Playback" (Wiedergabe) -> a sub menu appears.
Select "Program" -> the submenu with the available channels appears.

Select the desired channel :-) .

I hope this helps people who want to use VLC to watch TV.

Regards
Wolfgang
