Nope, I do that every time I reboot.No idea. Resintalling did not fix that?
It doesn't even show up in the default programs window until I reinstall it. I'm guessing that's the problem, for some reason windows doesn't recognize VLC on bootup, but if I reinstall and go back to the window it's there.hmmm did u try to set the file associations in windows control panel ?
i always do this (because old vlc versions had problems with file associations)
(win 7)
control panel > programs > default programs >
set default programs ( if u want to assign all files to vlc ) or
associate a file type or protocol with a program ( if u want to assign only some file types to vlc )
i use "set default programs" and assign all supported file types to vlc
this should work
(if not may be u r using other players which will restore there own association on program start)
