How about fixing the screen saver?

I have been using your player on and off for many years. It without a doubt plays direct audio streams (now that is got fixed) better than any other player out there. However after all this time, you still have not programmed a couple items correctly. The main one is the screen saver..

I am on W7 and W8.1 - here is how the screen saver disable SHOULD WORK ALREADY:

When a video is playing - the screen saver should be disabled.
When a video is paused or stopped, then the screen saver should work and turn off the screen.
That is it, no option needed unless to just plain not do a disable at all.

This is how VLC works - If the Screen Saver Disabled is checked, then it will never save the screen until you exit VLC.
If it is not checked then the screen saver will only click in if the video is fully stopped.
Please please fix this. If I am missing something, I am all ears.

One other pet peeve is not being able to single click play-pause. I was told years ago it had something to do with the way the video is displayed. My question - why does a double click work and not a single click? Really?

And if you want a really useful new feature, consider restarting video's where you left off. Especially useful if you don't fix the screen saver problem.

I am running the latest 2.2 nightly and would be happy to test any tweaks.

It's normal that it does not fire on pause, but if does not fire on stop, file a bugreport.

Click-to-pause is an issue, because it breaks DVD menus. You have an extension for that.

Restarting video also has an extension for this.

As to screen saver, it seems you think that pausing a video should still disable the screen save function. I totally disagree. If I pause a video it means I am not watching that video, I am off doing doing something else. I want my screen saver to kick in. How about an option at least "Don't disable on pause"?

As to the extensions - both of those features should be built into the main release in my view. Just downloading an extension is painful.

If you enable "click-to-pause", how do you behave on DVD menus?

What I would do is automatically disable click to pause when playing dvds. That would make it simple. Regular videos it works, DVDS it does not. End of problem.
I play about 1 DVD for every 200 normal video files in my collection. I am sure that number will only go up in the future as it is too easy to play single videos.
