How do I enable WASAPI?

Postby Fabulist » 09 Dec 2013 17:08

Hello everyone,

Could someone give me step by step instructions on how to enable WASAPI on VLC?

All I found is this: https://forum.videolan.org/viewtopic.ph ... +to+wasapi

And unfortunately I did not understand half of it.

Thanks in advance!

I am sorry if this question is frustrating you, but all information I found in the forums drive towards activation of plugins which I do not understand how to implement or how they come into play.

As for "Preferences -> Audio" I see no relevant options indicating WASAPI or "Windows Audio Session API". Unless you mean "Windows Multimedia Device output"?

If "Windows Multimedia Device output" is WASAPI, then I need to report that it returns nothing but distortion and inaudible, unidentifiable sounds - while both WASAPI and ASIO work fine in other players in 1 - 10ms & 16 / 24 / 32bit.

If this is not it, which one is it?

It is, and it is broken, indeed.

Ah, I am sorry then, I was not aware of this.

Thank you for your time, I will be hoping for a fix!
