VLC 2.1.1 multi monitor wont work

Hello,

I have just downloaded VLC 2.1.1 on windows XP SP3, look great but I cant playing video on my second monitor.

First, on lunch playing or on start VLC, the video screen come on my primary monitor every time, unable to memorize the video position on second screen... (I want the controls and the playlist interface on my primary display and the video output on second display). So, no problem, i drag and drop the video output window to my second monitor, but the output is completely black ! I see anything... It's a bit disappointing, VLC work on one single display, my primary monitor.

Any ideas ?

Edit: In the preference/video when the video output "Windows GDI" is selected that work, video is played on all the monitors, but the last position of the window video output is never recorded, that disturb

Hmm, the "Windows GDI" video output have a bit crappy quality.

I have tried to lunch VLC like that vlc.exe --directx-device="\\.\DISPLAY2" or "\\.\DISPLAY1" with no results...

So, in the Preferences/Video DirectX Display Device dialog there was only one option: "Default". On the VLC 2.0.8 Preferences/Video DirectX Display Device dialog there was 4 options: "default display \\.\DISPLAY1 \\.\DISPLAY2"

Same issue with VLC 2.1.2.

FIXED!!! For Windows goto Preferences -> Video Tab [Simple Mode] -> Output -> Select DirectX (DirectDraw) video output

Well, fixed for me with VLC 2.1.3.
