Startup pause/stutter

Postby starmanj » 02 Jun 2013 21:33

Why does VLC start playing a video for 1 second, then stop and pixelate (stutter) before it starts playing smoothly again?

I've had this problem for years on Windows xp, vista, and win7. Maybe it's just VLC vs. windows behavior. So then everybody running VLC under windows sees this, right? But it's always driven me crazy.

Is there a setting to fix this? Why would it start playing a video instantly, only to pause/pixelate after one second, on every single video? It plays perfectly after this "startup pause".

Nope, I have had this problem for over a year and have just given up on it.

I have this problem and it's aggravating as hell. If anyone has found a solution, I'd love to hear it.
