Postby kodela » 08 Oct 2013 17:53

Hi,

In 2.1.0 the video scaling factor can be set, but is not included in the display.

I set the "Video scaling factor" for example to 0.5 but the setting has no effect on the size of the displayed video. it has full size

and

I set "Always reset audio start level to:" for example on 55% and on the next start the audio start level is 100%

You need to deselect the 'scaling' checkbox in the video menu.

Volume will be fixed in 2.1.1.

Where is a 'scaling' checkbox in the video menu?

There only are:
- Video Track
- Full Screen
- Always Fit Window
- Always on Top
- Set as Wallpaper
- Zoom
- Aspect Ratio
- Crop
- Deinterlace
- Deinterlace mode
- Post processing
- Take Snapshot

In Preferences - video I see only one 'Video Auto Scaling' checkbox.

And what about "Always reset audio start level to:"?

Use Windows Vista and Windows 7.

The "Video Auto Scaling" checkbox is deselected and the "Video scaling factor" is setting to 0.5 but the setting has no effect on the size of the displayed video. it has full size!

I have the same problem, i.e. setting "video scaling factor", with "Video Auto Scaling" unchecked, dose not have any effect.
I have version 2.1.2 on windows XP.
I use Windows XP and Fedora 19 with the latest version of VLC for each OS.

With me is it all the same, with or without "Video Auto Scaling". The setting of the "Video Scaling Factor" has no effect.
Each video is always played with the scaling factor 1.0.
I did it with Windows Vista and Windows 7 tried with VLC 2.1.0, 2.1.1 and 2.1.2.

Does it no work only for two people, or is this a bug?

Under Rincewind has the option "Video scaling factor" no effect. Use the option "Zoom Video".
