Problem with CUE files

hi

there are 2 independent problems
with cue files


1. with some cue files vlc is unable to find the proper start of the songs
for e.g.
when i click on song number 4. in the playlist u hear a bit of the previous song
the times in the cue file are correct
so there should be no problem
(foobar2k has no problems with it)

this is an old bug and a ticket was opend for it (at least a year ago)
seems the bug still exists


2. with some cue files (not with all) the song titels are shown incorrect.
when the cue file is loaded the 1st and 2nd song will have the same name of song number 2
(again foobar2k has no prob and the cue file is ok)
when i now click on the other songs 3,4,5 etc
the song names in playlist will be overwritten with the name of song number 2

i can post screenshots of this problem if
required
and i can upload 2 cds incl cue files to show both problems

this 2nd bug was also reported with a ticket some time ago

seems cue support should be overhauled by an cue specialist
even if its not on the top of the to do list
its a bit annoying when u want to use vlc as audio player

with cue ape files there are no problems
hmm as far as i remember it was rumored that the flac codec/compression rate causing the malfunction

yep 2.1.0
cue flac combination


with cue ape combination everything is working ok
but with cue flac files
ALL cue flac combinations
have either problem 1 (wrong starting position)
or problem 2 (starting position is ok but song names are overwritten in playlist)

the bug occurs only with flac cue combination not with flac ape
so i guess its not a direct bug in cue decoding
may be flac compression rate or the flac encoder which was used creating the flac file is causing the problem

even if this is the reason
foobar2k has no probs
vlc is a nice player but it would be even better if there would be no probs with cue/flac files


btw there is another problem wich happens with ALL cue files
the duration of the songs is wrong in playlist
the duration of the complete flac/ape file is shown for each song not the duration for individual song.
