but the troubleshooting zcot supplied did not work. Please help. If you have any questions let me know... Thanks

Most likely your CPU just can't keep up with decoding the picture at the display rate.
Don't use PMs for support questions.

same problem here too sometimes, and CPU utilization isn't even at 50%, and not only with mkv files. Also when I transcode and transmit very small resolution videos and reproduce them live in the same computer it does that sometimes too, even with low CPU utilization.

AMD 2700, ASUS nForce2 Deluxe, 1GB, ATi 9600 EZ.

Well, I recently upgraded to 0.8.2 as well and had no problems at all at first. Until I tried to play a .mkv... Choppy video all of a sudden I tried all the options mentioned in the link Cattboy gave, but to no avail... Same blahblah about computer being too slow and skipping of the video. =/

After a lot of trying out different settings wich didn't work, I finally uninstalled 0.8.2 and went back to 0.8.1 to see if it had the same problems, and guess what... No problems at all anymore 8)

Guess it must be one tiny piece of programming in the player that shouldn't have been changed.

Some system specs if needed:
Athlon XP 2600+
1GB of RAM
Geforce FX5900 XT 128MB
