libx264_plugin.dll - Error 1000

Hello,

I have attempted to search for an answer prior to posting, but thus far I haven't had a ton of luck. I was hoping I might find some answers to an issue I've been having.

The long-story short is that I am running VLC as a service to allow a Java-based web application to be able to send commands to it and record to various Vivotek cameras located in different rooms. We recently upgraded the cameras and with it have been overhauling everything along with it.

Currently I am running VLC 2.0.8 32 bit on a Windows 2012 server. What I have noticed is that when multiple recordings are being sent to the service that it has a tendency to become unstable and crash. When browsing the error logs the following message appears:

In my testing I haven't noticed the system tacking out. In general I tend to see 45% CPU utilization and 15-20% Ram utilization.

I appreciate everyone's time and any thoughts or suggestions.

Currently I have verbosity set to 2, but I have a feeling it should be higher. Do you have a recommendation on that? From my reading elsewhere I've read that verbosity=2 is typically a good area to start

I was wanting to post a follow up to this and see if there may be some other ideas.

Since I initially came across this error I have done a couple of things to try to mitigate the issue:

1. Installed the 64 bit version of 2.0.8 which did help some.

2. Divided the VLC service into two separate services of which certain cameras only have access to a specific service in hopes of being able to prevent overwhelming a single service.

I continue to receive these errors in my Event Viewer (albeit with less frequency):

We are sending the following command to our cameras via telnet/VLC: #transcode{vcodec=h264,vb=0,scale=0,acodec=mpga,ab=128,channels=2,samplerate=44100}:file{dst=[FILENAME].mp4}

I had played around with the latest version (2.1.0) of VLC, but had difficulty getting LUA/Telnet to load.

Any other thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
