VLC 2.0.7 can't play sony DVD+RW discs

i got a vlc player and it can't operate on a sony dvd+rw disc...

here is what the sony disc looks like....on the pic, the logo on the right says (DVD-RW)...just replace that with (DVD+RW)



other dvds (verbatim) work okay...however when playing a sony disc (it has a gold color) on VLC, it does not work..

i go to Media>Open File, then it opens the open media dialog box, then i click play...then i hear crunching noises
going on the disc file..


also, the VLC player will freeze, unless i push the eject button...

also, when i do see a video, vlc skips.

what do i do?
