Everytime I try to add my entire Music directory to the Media Library then it defaults back to a standard list.
Steps to recreate:
- Delete all entries from media library
- In the Media Library > Right click > Add Folder...
- This always opens Windows explorer inside my music directory e.g. D:/Music
- Go up one level and select my Music directory and click 'Select Folder'
- This displays the Music directory in the Media library (if I close and reopen VLC at this point then it stays just displaying the Music directory)
- Double click on the Music directory in , which recognises that it is a directory
- Close and reopen VLC
- Go to the media library
- Of my approx 150 albums (14 GB) only the first 17 are showing
So its definitely not that the file is read-only. But I seem to be hitting some limit with playlists.
If I try to do the same with a standard playlist and save it to file then when I open up the playlist again only displays the first 17 albums, even though when I look in the xpsf file in a text editor it has a lot more.
Finally I don't even think that when I try to add all files in the music folder to the playlist it manages to add them all. The xpsf file has more than is shown in VLC but certainly not all the files that I tried to add in.
