VLC playlist -- Is there a way to Randomize ?

Postby Chromatic » 02 Jul 2013 23:27

Hi,

I use my VLC to stream to an audience -- I have about 150 video files in my playlist. I have utilized the Loop ALL and Random buttons,.. but the problem is the "Random" feature just isn't random. It plays alot of the same videos way before it plays them all.

Does that make sense? You may need to re-read it.

I need some way for VLC to play a specific playlist (or even a folder) at random -- BUT once it plays one filename it will NOT play that filename again until every other file in the playlist has been played once. So the people watching will not get repeats.

I don't know what to do about this? Anyone have ideas? Maybe can make a simple script/extension for me to use to accomplish my goals?

Thanks, Respectfully,

Chromatic
