I can't record video (vlc 2.0.5 on vista)

Since several months, I can't strangely record video.

I reinstalled vlc with delete cache and preferences but nothing change. I change the recording directory, nothing change too.

Note that when I click on the recording button, the button is loosening (when this worked, the recording button continued to be pressed on the interface so I knew vlc was recording the video).

I click on the record button on about 10 seconds. Then I re-click on at 20 sec. I stop to 25 sec.

I only tried recording for the first time this morning, so in my case it may be my error/misunderstanding, but like poq I cannot get any result either.

I change the recording directory, nothing change too.

@poq: Could you tell me how to do that please? I now see that recording is working but automatically saving to \My Videos and I'd liketo change that.

@Jean-Baptiste: Shouldn't there be some indication of the record Save operation, as there is for a Snapshot?

If you mean Preferences > Stream Output then I can't see anything that would do what I described, namely show a brief message indicating that the recording had been saved and its location.

It seems your VLC 2.0.5 XP is different than my VLC 2.0.5 Vista so I can't help you.

I'm running 2.0.5 on Windows 7 and seem to be having a similar issue.

I select Media->Open Network Stream->Enter My MRL->Convert->Raw->Test.ts

While the stream plays it never creates the file.

I've changed directories and I've set both directories in the preferences (Simple and Advanced) but I never see anything.

I can hit the record button and I get a file, but I don't know if that is Raw.
