Hello all.

I have the latest version of VLC Media Player: 2.0.5 Twoflower

I know this has been asked before (I did a little searching.....), but I don't think I've found a definitive answer: Why don't Bookmarks made during a video playback (such as a Matroska or mp4 file) remain after closing and re-launching the application?

Throughout the years I've used VLC Media Player as one of my favorite applications for media playback. But the one thing through the years that's bugged me a bit? Not retaining bookmarks that were made.

If I make a bookmark and then keep watching a movie, and then go back to load that previous bookmark.....it works just fine.

But if I make a bookmark and then shut down/ exit the VLC program/ application, and then launch the application again and look for the bookmark that I just made.......it's gone, disappeared.

So what's the trick? Is there a definitive answer to this bookmark conundrum?

I'd appreciate any info.

Thanks!
Pez

P.S. My current OS is Windows 8....although I've used VLC previously with Win 7 and XP.

They are not saved because nobody wrote the code to do so. As simple as that.
