720p and 1080p MKV-s are stuttering in Vlc only

Postby jpavic747 » 29 Mar 2013 14:37

I have a problem with 720p and 1080p Mkv-s in Vlc. While i m playing 720p and 1080p mkv is in vlc 2.0.5 they are stuttering and lagging. When i turned on the gpu acceleration the stutterin and lagging is gone. then i tried the same filles play in mpchc with gpu accelaration turned off and there was no lagging and stuttering. So my question is why are the mkv lagging in vlc when is gpu acceleration turned off but they are not lagging in mpchc with gpu acceleration turned off? Is my Cpu too slow for playing 1080p and 720p mkv? or is it just a problem in vlc?
My pc configuration is: CPU- Intel Core i3 2120 @ 3.30GHz
Motherboard: Asus P8H61-MX R2.0
Gpu: MSI Radeon Hd 7750 1GB DDR 5 (R7750-1GD5/OC)
Ram : 8 gb
OS : Windows 8 Pro 64-bit

Because vlc's video core need some rework to properly handle the "delay" induced by multithreaded CPU decoding. It's a bug, it is known but it is very hard to solve, so for now if you have such problems, stay in GPU decoding mode.

One more question. when will this bug with the delay induced by multithreaded CPU decoding be fixed?
And the version 1.1.1.1 plays mkv without gpu encondig with no stuttering
And i found another working solution with vlc 2.0.5 i changed the power plan from balanced to high performance and now it plays without gpu encondig with no lagging. why?

When someone find the bug and fix it. We don't keep it because we love it.
Because 1.x used monothreaded decoding.
Because the faster you decode the smaller delay and so the video core won't tag the frame as late.
