Playlist randomization

I have a problem, and I can't seem to find the solution.
Every time I either drag&drop or add several files to the VLC playlist, the order becomes randomized, or at least scrambled. It's not a problem if I'm only going to be playing 2-3 files, but when I (like now) add maybe 30 files, it becomes more than a mere nuisance. Is there a way to get rid of this, or do I have to add all files one at a time?

It also randomizes if I try to move more than one file inside the playlist. I'm seriously getting pissed off about it.

I thought I did... huh. Turns out I'm using 1.0.5. I'll update, and see if it changes.

Edit: Updated, and it still does the same thing.
Edit2: And it's not that VLC just plays the videos out of order (no reference to random playing is activated, not the randomize button or the checkbox for always playing randomly), it adds them to the playlist out of order, just to clarify.

same problem. every time i want to listen to audio books i have to use windows media player-.-

I am assuming that the problem is similar to the case where you select those files in Explorer and try to right click and start VLC (no VLC can be seen).

I've the same problem, I usually launch the 1st song of the album and then select the rest on the album and right-click to add to playlist
some softwares need to select all and right-click on the second song to have it in the right order so I'm now used to do it
last album I did this the 5th and 8th songs on 12 were at the end
I use 1.1.4 since it's out and I've this problem, I remember not having it but cant' remember which version it was
with my mp3 files I just have to change the order in the playlist but when it's mp3 from somewhere else depending on the metadatas I don't see the track number in their name anymore so if it's a big playlist I can't click on track number to arrange it, I'm just stucked and have to check the whole order, takes time sometimes...
another album lanched, 19songs, strange order : 1,2,3,5,6,8,10,9,11,12,13,14,16,17,18,19,15,7,4
really have no idea about where it could come from
please help

Yes, it's the same thing. No matter what I do. Selecting all and right-clicking to enqueue, or selecting and click+move. It randomizes the playlist anyway.

Edit: It's exactly the way purju described it.

I've been having this same problem for over a year. I'm currently running 1.1.11.

When I just selected and used "Add to VLC Media Player Playlist" on the 12 files on a 12 track album when VLC is already open, for e.g., they landed in VLC Playlist in the order 5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,1,2,3,4

When I selected and dragged and dropped the files on the same album, they landed on the VLC Playlist in the order 7,8,9,10,11,12,1,2,3,4,5,6.

I just closed VLC and tried again, and they landed in a different order. I recall once that they landed in alphabetical order! Sheesh. Seems quite random.

Does anybody know a way of having them land starting and ending in the same order they were selected?

If you shift select, you have to select last entry as first one (so reverse select).

SOLUTION FOUND:
1) Place your playlist in a new folder
2) Arrange the order within the folder as you see fit
3) Open VLC
4) Under the 'Media' menu select 'Open Folder' and select the folder with your playlist

I'm not sure if you can customize the play order, but this will at the very least place your music in alphabetical/ numerical order.
