MOV to MP4 (H264+AAC) Conversion Crashes VLC 2.0.4

Postby eddiemizzi » 07 Jan 2013 17:07

I want to convert a movie.mov file to movie.mp4 (MPEG 4 file with H264 video codec and AAC audio codec) for inclusion in an HTML5 webpage. The VLC conversion settings has an MP4 profile (H264 + MP3), which actually converts my movie.mov file OK. But I need MP4 with the AAC audio codec, not MP3. When I edit the MP4 profile to give MP4 (H264 + AAC) and try to convert movie.mov, VLC crashes. Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug? Thanks for any help or advice. Eddie

To answer my own question, this was a problem in VLC 2.0.4. It works fine in VLC 2.0.5 ! Eddie :-)
