Always latest Portable vlc, files cannotbe played themselves

Postby Epamitut » 31 Oct 2012 07:50

Hi forum.
This always happens when I save the latest Portable folder version and remove the previous version.

Cannot play media files themselves. Despite trying to choose the vlc.exe from its portable folder, this cannot be marked as a program to "Open with".
Only works dragging the media file to VLC window, or choosing another media player to "Open with".

It seems that I can only solve this issue, when I clean obsolete registry files using CCleaner (free).

PS: I also always happens this trouble using latest portable MPC-HC version.

Portable VLC is not an officilal version of VLC. And if it affects MPC-HC version too... it has to be a problem with the guys doing Portable.

Hi Rémi.
But, portable packages (.7z and .zip) are available from the official VLC web: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-windows.html

Confirmed. So far my solution is to clean up the Registry through Ccleaner, and reboot. :?
