Problem with Win32 waveOut Extension Audio Output Module

Hey,
I am using VLC 2.0.3 Twoflower on Win XP. When I use Win32 waveOut extension output as the audio module with (Generic USB Audio Drivers), the audio lags. When I monitored the CPU usage, it was showing just 30-40 %, So i am sure the lag was not happening because of processing. I want to get help in troubleshooting this problem, as the output is really nice in Win32waveOut extension as compared to Direct X Sound. I am using USB Audio Card. Please Help

Updated your audio drivers to the latest version? Updated the chipset/USB drivers to the latest version? Windows fully updated? Checked for viruses/malware?

In the menu, Tools, Messages, Verbosity -> 2, play the file and post the log you get please so we can see what might be causing this.

High CPU usage can arise because of resampling.

Is there any better driver available for USB Audio Card ? (I am using Quantum 3D USB Audio Card) If you can give me any better drivers for this card, I will be really Grateful.

I realized about High CPU Usage , so i kept the resampling quality to 6 and Resa,pler as Sinc Function (Medium), this keeps the cpu usage about 30 , which is good ?

30% CPU is quite high for audio only.

I've done some research, it appears there's no optimized/vendor driver available for this audio solution. If there is another way to add audio to your system/use the onboard audio already built-in, I suggest you use that one.

To verify if there was any problem with my audio solution, I checked the same audio file with same win32 WaveOut Audio Output in "Winamp" as well as with the same preferences with "VLC 1.1.9". I was amazed that at same settings (I was using with 2.0.3), 1.1.9 showed no lag and the audio quality was same as well. CPU usage with resampling quality of 10 turned out to be just under 5%. So, i have started using 1.1.9 now.

Could you try to remove all the resamplers dlls, except the ugly one?

After downgrading the version, I once again installed the 2.0.3 to find some solution without changing the vlc version. Luckily, I found one that is sure to work on any VLC Twoflower with same problem.
I realized that Twoflower uses a little high quality resampling than any 1.x.x version or other software. So, I increased the file caching from 300ms (default) to 1000ms. It worked. There was no lag and the audio quality was better than ever. So, if anyone is facing the same problem, he can increase the file caching duration and the lag will go, no matter how much good quality resampler he/she is using. I am really thankful to everyone who tried to help me by replying to this post.
