Mozilla plugin won't associate with Quicktime .MOV

Postby xanda » 26 Aug 2012 17:16

The VLC plugin for Mozilla doesn't appear to associate itself with Quicktime .mov files therefore meaning that it won't handle the content.

Have tried changing things using facilities such as about:config, about:plugins and file type associations in VLC itself - but to no avail.

Is this correct behaviour? If it is, is there a way to change it (and indeed will it even work)?

For test purposes, one of the sites it doesn't work on is:

Current setup is as follows:
Browser: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:14.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/14.0.1
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 x64

Yes, this is expected, because of QTVR mov that VLC does not support.
