I'm a VLC newbie, and run Windows 7x64 with MS Outlook 2010 and IE9. I want to bypass VLC media player when downloading some mp3/mp4 files, so that they are downloaded to my Downloads folder, and not to my "Temporary Internet Files" folder, where I cannot access them. I have been looking for a "switch" or "setting" of some sort in "VLC Media Player v2.0.2 Twoflower" which will temporarily *disable* automatic direction of the mp3/mp4 files to VLC MP. So far, I have not found one, and searching your website for "redirect download" produced no answer addressing this problem.
Is my only recourse to: a) temporarily uninstall VLC MP; or b) un-associate mp3/mp4 files from VLC MP in \Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Default Programs\Set Associations\ ?
