mp4 stutters & freezes

Postby draca » 06 Aug 2012 04:29

I have a .mp4 movie file that plays fine on one OS, but on a different OS, it pixelates, stutters and freezes. Is this a codec issue? How can I troubleshoot?

When I loaded the movie into avidemux, it said H.264 detected

Try another video output module:

And/or disable/enable GPU acceleration:

You can also try to enable or disable some video options such as Overlay and/or Hardware YUV -> RGB conversions.

Thanks so much for your reply. I tried your suggestions, but unfortunately the problem persists.

Now the problem manifests on Linux (ubuntu) VLC 1.0.6 , and works fine on Windows. I posted my question here because I got no responses in the Linux section.

Anyways, I tried every output module with the same problem and I disabled accellerated video output (overlay). There was no checkbox for GPU accelleration in VLC 1.0.6 so I assume it was not enabled. How do I disable Hardware YUV -> RGB conversions? Anything else I can try?
