Corrupt recoding output video with size 1280x720 and MPEG4

Hi all,

I use VLC application with MPEG4 to record video using HP EliteBook 8560w webcam (HP HD Webcam [Fixed] or Microsoft webcam (Microsoft LifeCam Cinema). The output file quality is very good if I record with size of 640x480 (both cameras). If I change the size to 1280x720 then the output video is blurred, just first second of video can be seen clearly. vcodec can be replaced by mp4v, divx, fmp4. The output video file quality is similar blurred.

The output file can be watched by Windows Media Player with a little better quality (still very blurred comparing to using lower resolution)
