Automate VLC: Updating Playlist

Hello,

i found one post, where the user wrote how i can start vlc directly with a playlist, like this in the cmd:

C:\Programme\VideoLAN\VLC\vlc.exe "Playlistfile"

This works and with the options i made now VLC is standalone, but how can i update the playlist without shuting down VLC and restart it?

is there any possible solution with a cmd command, when its finished i will implement it in VB6, if there is any possibility you can post here, too!

I have a second question, can i tell VLC when it restarts that it should restart where it stopped before it was shutdown?
