VLC for Live Production - Monitor 2 Playback

Postby muzicman82 » 22 Jun 2012 22:44

Hi all,

I work for an AV production company have come to rely on VLC for media playback. Currently, I turn on Clone filter so that a 2nd video window is generated. The problem with this method is that I have to move the 2nd Window over to my 2nd monitor and then double click it for full screen. I am looking for a better way to do this.

Then, I can navigate through the playlist. However, here's another pitfall. If I play a video that is a different resolution than the one on the 2nd screen, the window will close and a new clone will be generated, so I have to move it back over. If I play a video with the same resolution, it stays up.

I'd like a way to just always have my playback play on Monitor 2, full screen. It being full screen with no Windowed option would be awesome. Then, my playlist and controls could stay on Monitor 1.

Lastly, is there a way for VLC to play the current file and then STOP instead of advancing through the playlist?

If there's other (free) software that accomplishes this, please tell!

Code: Select all

--play-and-stop, --no-play-and-stop Play and stop (default disabled) Stop the playlist after each played playlist item. (default disabled)
that option is also available in Tools -> Preferences (Show settings: All) Playlist
