Hello,
a problem, with VLC 2.0.0 i could run 1 or 2 or 3 or .. VLC instance.

with 2.0.1 i cannot :( i verified in Outil (tools) > preference > interface > "autoriser de multiple instance de VLC", it's check.

Does it help if you reset VLC settings by removing %appdata%\vlc folder?

In VLC > tools > preference > bottom > reinitialise preference > enregistrer, close VLC, run VLC; no change, i play a video, then an other, then an other, VLC don't run 3 times...

I am also having the same issue.

I do not see this extra option listed in this topic either. Ill switch to an older version for now.

In Tools -> Preferences (Show settings = All) -> Advanced
There are two options:

Allow only one running instance
One instance when started from file

Make sure both options are unticked, save the preferences then exit and restart VLC.

Oh I see, it's not on the default options page. That clears everything.
