How do you install update

Postby EDDAVID » 30 Mar 2012 04:48

I am sure this is basic and I am just a newbie, but I don't see how to install the update to Twoflower. I have VLC 2.0.0 and get the notice to download the update. I do that but I can't find where the file goes ( not in Downloads folder). I thought it might happen automatically, but it still say version 2.0.0. How do you install the update? Thanks.

The update file (which is just the normal 2.0.1 installer *.exe) is stored in the %temp% directory (type %temp% into the Windows Explorer address bar and press Enter to view). It's put there as it's normally executed after being downloaded, so is only needed temporarily for installing the update.

Alternatively you can just download the latest version of VLC from the link on main website:
http://www.videolan.org/

When you run the installer it will uninstall the older version first before installing 2.0.1.
