IS VLC 1.1.11 VERSION INSECURE (A SECURİTY RISK)?

Postby mysoul » 26 Mar 2012 18:17

WİNDOWS 7 HOME PREMİUM 64-BİT

Hello,

i currently have the vlc 1.1.11 version installed and have no problems at all.

However my Secunia notified me that VLC 1.1.11 is insecure ie,

there is a vulnerability and advises to upgrade to the latest version.

İ would much rather stay with the 1.1.11 as it works so well,

İs it really necessary to upgrade?

İs the vlc a security risk?

Thank you.

It depends what you do with VLC. If you didn't install browser plugins, and you only play videos made by yourself, there shouldn't be any security issues.
