Trying to get VLC to stream my desktop to a HTTP stream so I can then put that HTTP stream into TVersity and play it on my DLNA/Samsung TV.
Challenge is VLC crashes whenever I try to create a stream.
-This happened on VLC 1.x
-Installed VLC 2.0.1 yesterday it still happens
-Uninstalled All in One Codec Pack
-Installed K-Lite Codec Pack (Mega edition without the players but with all the codecs)
It still crashese after this.
Installed Microsoft Debug Diag x64 on Windows 7 x64 bit SP1 with all the latest patches. Ran the debugger 3 times but it does not always crash with the same function running. This maybe because the first crash dump I only ran the Microsoft Debug Diag x64, and on the second two I rang the Microsoft Debug Diag and the Microsoft Application Verifyer x64.
This is what I am doing to turn on desktop streaming: when it crashese
Furthermore if I go in VLC.EXE -> Media (menu) -> Stream (selection) -> Capture Device (tab) -> Capture Mode (Dropdownbox) "Desktop" (selection) -> Desire frame rate (textbox) "28.00" (input) -> Stream (button) -> Destination Setup (bar) -> New Destintation (dropdownbox) "HTTP" -> Add (button) -> Activate Transcoding (checkbox) "checked/on" -> Video (dropdownbox) "H.264 + AAC (MP4)"
If I do this then it does not crash: If I turn off transcoding
Furthermore if I go in VLC.EXE -> Media (menu) -> Stream (selection) -> Capture Device (tab) -> Capture Mode (Dropdownbox) "Desktop" (selection) -> Desire frame rate (textbox) "28.00" (input) -> Stream (button) -> Destination Setup (bar) -> New Destintation (dropdownbox) "HTTP" -> Add (button) -> Activate Transcoding (checkbox) "not check/off" -> Video (dropdownbox) "H.264 + AAC (MP4)"
