VLC opens to full screen after playing a video

When VLC opens a video file, it opens to the native size which is much smaller than the entire screen. In the past I could drag the window to make it bigger, but when the video ended, the window would go back to 640x480 or what ever it started with. Now for some reason, when the video ends the window opens to full screen size. The close button is expanded off the screen. Is there a setting that will bring back the old behavior? It is so annoying that I have reset the preferences, but it still opens off the screen. I have to drag the close button back to the view screen to close it. This is very annoying.

No, but I figured out what was wrong. Because re setting the preferences didn't fix the problem, I tried resizing the window and then saving the preferences. I think that something in the settings autosaved the size if the screen while I had it large and was reverting to it after playback. I resized the window to a small size and saved the preferences. VLC now uses that size when it exits.

I have the same problems new with VLC 2 on the Mac and Windows. I tried deleting VLC's prefs in both OSes but that didn't solve these two issues. Previous versions of VLC did not exhibit this behaviour in either OS.
