vlc player 2.0.0 rc1 twoflower

Postby lochee_chap » 11 Feb 2012 21:26

Was it really necessary to take out the fast forward capabilities of the older vlc player?
Why is it necessary to update all the time?
If the answer to the above question is to fix security vulnerabilities then fair enough but taking away parts that perform a function that is just not on.

yes there was, there were two arrow type buttons either side of the timeline that when when pressed or clicked would increase the speed of the current playing video. Check out an older portable version.

There were 2 arrow buttons on either side of the timeline. You can now:
  • Press longer on the next button to have forward skip.
  • Press longer on the previous button to have backward skip.
  • Click on the speed control on the status bar to have your 2 buttons.
  • Use the menus
  • Use the hotkeys
  • Use the gestures
  • go to customize interface and put the buttons everywhere you want.
And please, we are waiting for your patches...

Jean-Baptiste,

Thank you for your reply on this...I was looking for exactly how to do this, I like Fast-Forwarding at 2X, 3X, or 4X when watching.

QUESTION: How do I add something that tells me if I'm watching at 2X, 3X, or 4X??????

Thanks so much,

There is a 1.00x you can add to any bar in Customize interface.
